You are appreciated!!

I love this hobby so much. I have always been doing some kind of rc’ing like; racing, bashing, building, crawling, scaling, etc etc. I have always been into scale rc. I used to call it trailing back in the late 80’s early 90’s. I had the Tamyia Toyota 4WD pre-runner. It had open diffs, and was shaft driven with the worst suspension travel ever. No solid axles, but I did not care. I locked the rear diff, and went to town with it. Fast forward to today, the hobby has progressed to such an awesome level, and I think scaling/crawling is here to stay. In this adventure of lasting fortitude, I have met a lot of awesome people, and been apart of some great things through it all. The people I meet in this hobby have always been awesome. Of course there has been a few douche bags along the way, but they quickly get weeded out and left behind.
I can remember the fun times I had racing nitro stadium trucks at Empire Hobbies with John Cooper, Warren and Dylan Costello Wey Benway, the Bushey’s, Rick Brunelle, Ricky “ICE” Gratton, and so many others. I really got along with all of them, but really bonded with Coop. He was from NY, was super laid back, and pretty damn funny. I miss all those Sunday’s of racing and watching Wey throw his stuff when he got pissed. Watching Dylan race is electric stadium truck, while watching his dad swap out batteries, then we’d all scream at Dylan to stop driving on the walls!
Fast forward some 15 – 20 years later and I am still at it, and meeting some of the coolest, greatest, awesomest kilt wearing people in the ‘scaling’ scene. This list is long, and with Social Media, I can stay in touch with a lot of people across the world! I even talk to this Swiss guy Named Dan Trüeb, aka @rc_dan. I have hung out with Desmond Mooney, one of the smoothest cats in the industry and reps the best tire in the industry in my opinion. He also does some kick ass tattoos at White Lotus Tattoo Co. In NJ. My boy in North Carolina Cory “evil twin” Schafer. He’s bald, likes fast rc’s and we play Black Ops II together trying to do all the glitches. An awesome guy to have on your side and loves his hobby.
Of course how can I forget my VT guys! Rob Kuck is my right hand man, always there to help, yell, and support me. Rob has a passion about VTRC that is hard to ignore. Then through a rough start, Ben Gagne and I are starting to build something pretty badass and he is my Tech guy. Ben knows what he’s talking about when it comes to what’s best in the RC hobby, except tires, he’s still confused in that department. Then we have Chad “I hate working on these things” Kennison is one of the funniest guys I have met and hung out with, and is a HUGE help to me as well as everyone else. Then the staple guys like; Greg, Paul, Justin, Ethan, Robert, Gerry, Erik, and the list goes on. These guys push the hobby, and support their friends and have a real love for the hobby and make VTRC what it is.
Then we roll to the flat landers… These guys are typical massholes, and I love everyone of them. I met Jonathan Mathews last summer, and we have been inseparable ever since. I love this guy and his family as if he was my brother, which he is. Then we roll over to Will Stewart… This guy, he’s one badass looking dude, and a great friend that’s not afraid to tell you how it is, and will give you the shirt off his back for you. Then we got Tim “FLAT” Landers aka Powda. This guy brings tears of humor to your eyes, he is wicked funny, and you know that little misery cloud above your head when you’re in a bad mood or whatever, just know that is Tim! We have Carl Perkins next, and this guy is a metal head, rcing freak, and he fits right in. He gave me the body for Rock Notcher and his business Soul Crusher Graphics has helped me out quite a few times with my adventures. Then you have Anthony Roldan aka Flyin’ Hawaiian. One of the hardest pushing guys in the hobby. Always willing to lend a hand, a part, an entire rc car for you to use or have. For the bad wrap some massholes get, this group have made me and my friends feel like kings when we roll in and they support hard in all they do.
My Dirty Jersey gang, Anthony Kaplon aka Akap, Who has helped me in a huge way with everything we have achieved in 2015. He has been a pivotal part actually, and I love this guy and his family. We have Dan, Lee Jones, Sarah, holding it down and keeping the rc scene alive and well in Jersey. These guys are also just so pumped on rc, and support their rc communities. Of course I can not forget my NYC guys Chris Maur, and rcnonstop! I met Chris last summer. He saw I was in NYC rcing, called me, and we met up and wheeled! He brought batteries, and re-soldered different plugs on his batteries so I could wheel with him. Dedication!! He has been building and collecting for our next trip.
The outsiders… Where can I start? We’ll go with my southern rock stars, aka Shawn, James, Todd, and Christina from South Carolina!!! I met this motley crew in PA at the first Recon G6 US trials championship. All I can really say is, be ready to laugh, and cry. These guys are pretty amazing. Todd and Christina are two of the cutest in the hobby, and they are not afraid to put in hard work, and roll with the flow. I’ve had some of the juice, and now I’m a follower! Haha At the Recon G6 Rescue and Recover these guys were pretty damn awesome to hang with, and helped out whenever asked. Hard working group of rc’ers and selfless.
Speaking of PA I can not leave my guys Justin Sullivan and Aye Grea aka Justin, Mike U, jslick, and Luis and a few others. They always come out to wheel and hang. They push themselves and their group to the next level, and I am always sad to leave PA after hanging with these guys.
Let’s meet Mike Kirby, from the KNK hardware fame. One of the nicest guys you will ever meet, and his family is quite amazing as well. They travel a lot, like the Griswolds. Except they aren’t going to Wally World. Then we roll from Ohio to Nevada, where their is a cast of awesome people in the RC community. The dynamic duo of Anthony Rivas and Brian Parker. You may have never heard of them or their little thing called Recon G6… These guys are exactly everything I love about RC’ing. These two have been nothing but gracious, accommodating, entertaining, and full of life. From hanging out in PA to talking to them through text, social media or whatever, these guys work hard, and play even harder! They truly are amazing people outside of the RC world too. Then we have Jason Copeland of CKRC fame. Taking over a company and becoming a house hold name is a tall task, but Jason is doing just that. Jason is always helping, reaching out, and supporting not just me, but the entire rc community, world wide! Though it took him about year to drop the A out of my name, he always has been there for me.
You see, the list of awesome people grows everyday. I have met some amazing people from all over the world, and I can’t wait to meet even more. We have people in California like Chelsea aka rcchick I want to meet, calicralwers, all these Instagram rc’ers I only know through social media and can not wait to hang with in person.
For such a small part the population in the grand scheme of what’s popular in the world, we sure know how to make an impact, and influence peoples lives in a great way. I have heard some sad stories turned around because they got involved in rc, that have met nice people, and found a family in RC. I have found many great families and can’t wait to meet many more. This list is small for length reasons, but just know I appreciate everyone, and love hanging with you all, and look forward to hanging with everyone again real soon, or for the first time!!
Stay Fresh gang!
